Interesting documental
I am going to put that direction. It is a very interesting documental about people with problems. There is a blind girl who explains her case and how is her day as a blind girl. I think that it is a good example of how blind people like my mum life as goos as people who see correctly. we have to give many thanks to the new technologies.

Learning contract
LEARNING CONTRACT
Overall
theme
What is the overall theme? What are you
going to be working on?
|
Braille. I am going to learn how to read
Braille. The final product will be to read an infant story.
To begin with, we will do a few exercises
of touch to differentiate the texturesI am going to practice it with the
professional. To do this, I will use some sweaters, shirts that try to
recognize themthrough the fabric. I will also use a domino to recognize each
card’s numbers and thereby learn to touch and not leave a gap untouched. All
this will be done with a mask on myeyes. After having stimulated touch with
these exercises I would begin with Braille. Braille is a writing that isdesigned
by points. They are six points and combining them by highlighting the
interest we can create the entire alphabet, numbers, punctuation marks ...Every
night I will dedicate half hour to learning by myself. I willuse a book
written in Braille like the old children's nursery “Cartilla”. Each letter of
the alphabet, you work within the text matches so helps you to recognize that
letter. Texts successively addmore letters.

Justification
of the project
Why did you choose this topic/project?
Why do you think it is relevant?
|
This is a subject very close to me. My
mother is losing vision. Two years ago she decided to learn to read in
Braille. It is an interesting topic because I can find a classroom with a
child with visual problems and so I can help. If you have notes I can read
Braille and if in doubt I be able to resolve them without the need for ink
pass.
I feel very comfortable making this
project.
Until now, blind children only had the
chance to study in specific centres for them. There is one in Madrid and one
in Barcelona. These centres are equipped with all the aida blind or visually
impaired may need. Today these is changing and are trying to make blind
children study in their environment and integrate them into regular
classrooms. So more often we will find children who may have these problems.
The fact that the teacher knows readingBraille it is a way to approach the
child as theyboth can use the same tools and the child will feel more
integrated and it will not be the only one who uses those tools.
If you attend a regular school, he does
not feel that your disability makes you different and not far from their
family or emotional means. Modifies the attitudes of people about blindness.
Facilitates adaptation and suitability to the visual world of the child and
allows the seer to accept it.
Further with my mum it is grateful to
know her way to communicate by writing. In short, that I can understand their
means of communication so that they feel less distinct or even displaced.

Define
Objectives of Project
What do you want to achieve with this
project?
|
Personal goals:
1. Recognize
all the letters of the alphabet in Braille and also the numbers.
2. Improve my touch
3. Read
a short text using mostly touch. To the seer it is very difficult because
they haven´t developed this sense. It is so easy to read Braille by sight
because the points that are raised and these figures are visible to the naked
eye.
4. Go
slowly improving reading speed so that reading is more efficient.
5. Analyse and identify what the needs of a blind person can be.
Language objective:
1. Identify
my language level and reflect on what I can do to improve it.
Objectives I want to achieve with
listeners:
1. Familiarize
children with braille.
2. Demonstrate
that the world is different and not everyone has the same needs.

Decisions
· How
are you going to make decisions? Which strategies will you use?
· Which
decisions will you make?
|
Resources:
-Material: The Cartilla to study all the
letters, Braille alphabet, Clothes, infant stories written in ink and in
Braille and a camera.
-Human: I will meet a professional who
helps me learning it.
Before starting the project I reference
the path of my mother when Braille study. It's a long learning so between the
professional, I help my mother, my mother and I have adjusted the time frame.
As we said earlier is an expensive job to learn this so clearly had iva need
help learning . Once the professional feel that my mother is able to teach so
she will be my career .for me it is much more comfortable because I avoid
despalzamientos . I receive classes once a week with professional but then I
have to review what they have learned during the week.
This story will be read to a child. I decided it to
see students reaction .
In the blog , a weekly I will explainwhat I learn during the week and an explanation on the evolution of
learning was published.
The greatest difficulty that I can find
is to find a story that suits my needs as not all the stories are written in
Braille. The blind use much audio to read. Anyway, my mother is an affiliate
of the ONCE library so I will go to this organization in whichthey can provide
a list of the books they have.

Set
target dates/timeline
When are your tasks going to be due?
How are you going to organize your
project?
When are you going to meet your tutor?
|
1,2,3 and 4 of november:
● We
will start analyzing the information that we consider relevant: reading,
watching documentaries, finding important ideas, etc.
● I
will have a look to infant stories to choose the most appropriate.
I will fill the sheet where we collect
all the objectives.
I will start with the touch exercises.
·
Create and fill the questionnaire.
Day 4
until 6 of December :
·
In this period of time I will learn one letter per
day.
·
Every Friday (8,15,22,29 of November and 6 of
December)I will contact the Braille professional, and we will meet to
practice what I have learnt. I will write the reflection about how I am
progressing. Apart from that I will receive English lessons to achieve my
language objectives and improve my English.
After that we need time until the week to
practice what I have learned.
·
Days 15,29 and 6 I will record how I read.
13 of December :
● Rounding
up the project, mainly the written part.
20, 27 of December and 3 of January:
·
Read short infant stories.
6 of January :
● Preparing
the video.
● Doing
the recording about what I have learnt about the topic.

Strategies
and Resources
How are you going to achieve your aims?
|
Before starting with learning to read I
willbegin with a few exercises to distinguish different surfaces and gradually
develop
As the material is a material that has
materialized ONCE for anyone wanting to learn this. If I had some difficulty
to choose the story as some were somewhat complex but I found one that fits
what I have planned that I will be able to learn in this time period.
|
Verification/Evaluation
How will you prove that you have achieved
your aims? That you have learned what you established as a goal initially?
|
I'll take the infant story written in
both Braille and ink. I will try reading all the text in Braille while a
professional corrects because shewill have the written version.
During the learning process every week I
write a journal where I write a reflection on how I evolve. There will be a
recording that will only end in demonstrating how to read Braille. Finally I will
conclude with a reflection on how the whole learning process has been.
|
Decide
on video and final presentation.
Which resources are you going to use to
create your final video? How and where are you going to upload it?
How are you going to give your
presentation? How will it be organized or structured?
|
In my presentation I will show the final
production, which will be a video with the content:
The reasons why we have decided to work
this project.
The difficulties I have found
Conclusion/ what I have learnt personally
and professionally.
In the final production I will read a litle bit the
story to a child.I am not going to read all the book because it is too long. I will get a consent from the parents to record the child. I
believe that it is not necessary to many more recordings because it is a slow
process.

Curious things of Braille
Here I am going to show you the day that I went to Once to choose the book. I were watching maps, games, their typewriter...

Class eleven - 3 of January
Last day of
class and I have had problems. The texts that I have to read also reads other people and the points are not noticed as well as in previous ones.
I found it very curious sensaion because this is something that had not take into account.
Now I know when I went to choose the book because I could not choose whatever.

Class ten - 27 of December
This time I
held up very well reading by touch but also at the end os the session I wans´t able to read ...
I mentioned my frustration with professional and told me that it is almost impossible to read everything by hand because we must not forget that I am a sighted person.
This means that my touch is not as developed as the blind. Because in everyday life I do not use the touch and I use the view.
Braille text today was 15 lines. Seem few but we must not forget that I am learning to read in an unknown code.
